So…. today’s the birthday of one of my biggest inspirations ever.

Hiromu Arakawa. The author of one of my most beloved stories. The creator of some of my more-than-favorite characters. The person who, with her amazing storytelling skills, gorgeous art, and incredible talents in ripping my heart off my chest and still leaving me totally okay with it, managed to change my life in a certain way.

I’m not lying when I put her on the same level as J. K. Rowling. Yes, different stories, different objectives, but both of them changed a lot of things to me. Thanks to them and their stories, I started writing my own. And, about Arakawa specifically, no story EVER (book, game, anime, you name it) touched me so much.

So this is my small tribute to her. and even though I know she’ll never read it, I need to say it. Hiromu Arakawa inspired me to write, and did it through the most beautiful manga ever. You introduced me to characters of all ways. Short-tempered as Edward or Mei, kind and thoughtful as Alphonse or Winry, wise and protective like Hughes and Izumi. Riza showed me that, just because you’re supposed to be a tool and bow to someone else’s wishes, you’re more than that - and there’s always something bigger to fight for. Roy showed me that you can make mistakes, but as long as you’re willing to fix them and work for that, you’ll be fine.

And family. All of them showed it, in different ways. But in the end, the lesson is the same: family are the ones you love and love you back, and as long as you keep it in mind, you won’t get lost.

I know it sounds stupid, childish. But I can’t really explain why Fullmetal Alchemist is so special to me. And, maybe, somewhere out there shares this same vision, who knows?

Well, it seems I already missed the point. so that’s it.

Meet its twin. But this time it’s all the more frightening; the House has passed it despite Obama’s threats to veto. And by an alarmingly large margin, at that. CISPA threatens the US constitution’s guarantees of due privacy and free speech, permitting any government agency to access and transfer of vast amounts of data- from internet records to even the content of personal e-mails, and all without obtaining a warrant.

What’s even more disgusting than this bill actually making through the House is some of the arguments used to help it’s passage, and comments made by one of the bill’s biggest supporters admitting the bill helps big business while insulting opposers (whose is also speculated to have personal reasons for wanting CISPA made into law).

This threatens every element of your online presence. From personal emails to general activity, any government agency will have the ability to go fishing without consequence.

Please, PLEASE, sign the following petitions. You don’t even have to be a US citizen to sign most of them or act against CISPA, and please keep in mind that if this shit flies in America, who knows what country might use its example to do it, too.

I don’t know what to do. I am so upset. Can anyone help me?

My painting was created back in 2010, (see it HERE) and since then so many people have expressed their love for it, not just on tumblr, but in many places. At least 9 people had it tattooed on their bodies. It’s one of my favourite images I created at University and I was proud of it in many ways.

Disney have used it on a cosmetics bag HERE (look at the back)
and they have produced a Tshirt HERE with a really similar design clearly modeled from my painting

I’m so mad because I have no chance at getting Disney to do anything about it. I had so much respect for the company and now I am just SO upset and disappointed.

Any help, advice or signal boosting would be amazing. And thank you so much to the kind person who messaged me about this.

It’s breaking Copyright law. You can sue.

Any work or idea (under Copyright law or intellectual property rights) is protected. Talk to a local lawyer. You don’t need a piece of paper like a patent or copyright to prove this is yours, just the original work and proof it was made before that handbag.

I am still so fucking mad about this. I am mad that these teenagers still think it’s okay to victim-blame, especially in the light of the Steubenville case. I am mad that this is right next to my home town. I am mad that this isn’t getting more attention. I am mad that things like this will continue to happen.
I am mad that rape culture perpetuates.
For those of you that aren’t aware, so far four male football player students have been arrested on rape charges in Torrington, Connecticut. The victims have been bullied and are CONTINUING to be bullied, even after this case has made headlines. Students are rallying FOR the defendants.

And tell people. Tell everyone you know, everyone you interact with, that victim blaming is not fucking okay. Tell them that rape culture needs to stop. That this is unacceptable. That victims shouldn’t be afraid to report sexual assault. These students need to be reprimanded. Rapists need to be punished.
